thanks for graciously sharing your time with us at Off the Map. I didn't get to hang with you, but afterwards at the bar you did totally taunt me with a pic of your man crush, The Boss.

Loved your comment about how you noticed the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu wanting to deconstruct the celebrity shaman thing. "Our people need to learn to do this." For sure. There is a revolution brewing of ordinary folk who are discovering the power of their own celebrity found in obscurity and everyday life. (this is, in large part, why I am so fascinated with the phenomena of The Shack...)

Anyhow, great gig in Seattle. Thanks for hanging with our OTM community!

Doug,
I stole your headline idea for my blog about the Dalai Lama gig. Thanks for the idea, and thanks for hanging with us afterwards at the pub. I hope to get to know you better in the days to come.

Your comment on the panel at VCC stuck with me. You said the reason you followed Jesus was because (and I'm sort of paraphrasing here) "nobody else got to me first". The point, I think, was that had you been born in Tibet, you would likely have been Buddist or Hindu. This is an important reality that we westerners overlook, I think. Thanks for the shake up.

Hi Doug - it was great to see you in Seattle. I posted my comments about the prayer breakfast, including a couple of things you said later about the Dalai Lama, on my blog here: Prayer Breakfast with the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu (I hope that link works)

Feel free to correct me if I didn't fairly represent your comments. Or to add more thoughts or whatever.

Greetings Doug!

It was great seeing you again yesterday. I was appreciative of your comments last night at the Off-The-Map gig, especially those of disrobing the "celebrity pastor". Keep representing.
