Church in the Inventive Age, my new book, will be released this summer. Over the next number of weeks I will be sharing bits and pieces of the book.
Here is chapter 1 (the chapters are really short, this one is only 2 pages). In coming weeks I will be sharing quotes from the book and quotes from those who have read it.
Here is a thought on the book from Brian McLaren:
OK, even if Doug Pagitt weren’t a proven, true friend, and even if I didn’t agree enthusiastically with this book, and even if I wasn’t confident that it will help thousands of churches get (and get in on) what’s going on, I would still say that it’s so smartly written, so clearly framed, and so winsomely presented that it deserves your time, money, and attention. If you’ve never read Pagitt before, start here, and if you have, this might be his best work yet. – Brian D. McLaren
I would love it if you would considering buying the book and reading with a group of others. It is written with church leadership groups, denominations, ministry leaders, and those who just like thinking about church, religion and culture in mind. Bulk pricing will be available, and the amazon price will be less than $10.
If you want to keep up on the book consider joining the Facebook.com/ChurchintheInventiveAge page.
Here is Chapter 1. Much more to come later.

Thanks so much for sharing this. Your thoughts have been welcome over the years. Since the book is about “collaboration and creativity” why not publish it in blog format?
preordered! oh yeah.
Doug- looks like great stuff. Those of us down here at Disciples Fellowship look forward to reading and discussing !
