RNC Video 1

Yesterday I was at the RNC Convention getting a feel, interviewing delegates so I could write a blog for PBS Religion and Ethics News Weekly.

Here is one of the videos I shot. I was able to get  pretty close to the action.

More to come on my reflections.

Not sure what your blog is supposed to be about, but I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts on the supposed evangelical outreach this night was supposed to bring. I’ve seen at least a few commentators mention that Palin was supposed to bring evangelicals around to McCain, and she certainly seems to have done that. But essentially her whole night, with Romney and Giuliani, and the bulk of her speech, was largely invective aimed at Obama. He is an elitist, a celebrity, filled with empty rhetoric, vacuous, lacking any accomplishments, suffering from a Messiah complex, and on and on it went. If the goal of a Christian is to be Christ-like, how exactly does this fit the bill? What preciously is Christlike about lining up speaker after speaker to denigrate another person, and another Christian for that matter? Palin couldn’t even refer to him by name, he was just “our opponent.” How did our situation get so bad that evangelicals are won over by this kind of thing?

@chels I know what you mean, its hard to find good help these days. People now days just don’t have the work ethic they used to have. I mean consider whoever wrote this post, they must have been working hard to write that good and it took a good bit of their time I am sure. I work with people who couldn’t write like this if they tried, and getting them to try is hard enough as it is.
